The 288 Hour Comic Book Challenge Chapter One

Hello, Friends. As millions of you already know, I have accepted a challenge from Steve Stwalley to produce a graphic novel in 288 hours. It's like the 24 Hour Comic Day event, but hurts more. I completed the first chapter over the weekend, from 7pm on Friday, October 20 to 7pm on Saturday, October 21. If all goes according to plan, look for a new chapter around the end of each month. And if all REALLY goes according to plan, I'll draw the final chapter during the 2007 24 Hour comics day event in Minneapolis, shoulder to shoulder with the evil mastermind who concocted this scheme: yes, once again, Steve Stwalley.

sweet. glad you all like it. well, my big time publisher friend convinced me to only reveal the first chapter online as a teaser. because I'm such a big tease. So know that I will continue to keep up the fight, but from now on without an audience...

gods speed to you kevin.
...cause, like, you gotta draw fast.
how is it to do 24 hours straight all by yourself? is the temptaion to sleep bigger or is it all around for you a LESS distracting way to go?

less distracting, but also much much less interesting. It definitely becomes about the book and not about the community. so I'm eagerly awaiting doing chapter 12 with the conspiracy.

Kevin, you are a cartooning MACHINE! I still haven't even gotten around to scanning and posting my 24 hour comic, and you've already done another one! I especially loved the panel towards the end with the killer whales under water. Can't wait for the tome to be finished!
